My name is Linda Dugger and I have been the ministry assistant since 2009; this time. I also served as secretary at Blackburn Chapel from 1986-1992.
I was born in California and spent my first 30 years there. After graduating high school, I attended American River College in Carmichael, CA. I earned an AA in business. I briefly worked for an attorney as a legal secretary. My husband, Don, and I were married in 1972 and lived in the bay area for 8 years and our 2 children were born in Livermore (40 mi. east of San Francisco). While in Livermore I worked at Bank of America for 8 years. After experiencing 2 earthquakes in 2 days in 1980 we relocated to Oklahoma (my Dad reminded me often it was the land of tornadoes!)
In 1986 I was asked to be secretary at Blackburn and I served in that position until 1992 when I took a job at American National Bank (now Arvest) I worked there until 1997. Our daughter, Karie, passed on to heaven in 1994 from cancer. We have a son, Darren, and his family in Tecumseh. He has a son, Devon, who is our only grandson, our pride and joy.
I was saved in a Nazarene church in Livermore in 1979 during revival. I realized I needed the Lord in order to raise my 2 children. I did not want to be separated from God and knew I needed His love and forgiveness.
My goal as ministry assistant is to do my best for God and the church’s business to be handled in an efficient and orderly manner to the best of my ability. I truly enjoy what I do – it’s a blessing to serve.
